Lutheran Park and Gardens

Our Gift to the Community

When Lutheran Hospital was sold in 1995, one of the biggest concerns was what would happen to the hospital’s impressive footprint. The park was designed with the input of the five surrounding neighborhood associations and received an investment of more that $900,000 in land improvement and development. For The Lutheran Foundation, the choice was clear—to create a green, peaceful place for the entire community. On June 25, 2006 Lutheran Park and Gardens was officially dedicated—to the glory of God and for the enjoyment of all. The park is located adjacent to the Foundation office at 3024 Fairfield Avenue. • Four cornerstones with plaques memorializing the historic past of Lutheran Hospital.
  • Park water fountain splash pad.
  • Walking paths and green space for picnicking and other activities.
  • Meditation Gardens featuring the historic Healing Christ Statue, dedicated to Lutheran Hospital in 1916.

We appreciate your cooperation in keeping this a beautiful place.
