Lutheran Foundation Grant Recipient - Worship for Shut-Ins

Worship for Shut-Ins

Broadcasting Christ’s Love.

For the past 29 years, those who are unable to attend church have relied on Lutheran Ministries Media’s televised “Worship for Shut-Ins.” The popularity of the program has grown to the extent that today, it is broadcast on 40 local stations across the U.S. and Canada. Even more impressive is the fact that four satellite networks carry the program around the world to 173 nations and into 150 million homes. Needless to say, Lutheran Ministries Media has outgrown its shared studio space on the campus of Holy Cross Lutheran Church. “Thanks to a grant by The Lutheran Foundation, plans are underway for our state-of-the-art digital equipment to be installed in a new studio at Concordia Seminary,” said Executive Director, Kenneth Schilf. The facility will be available for Seminary use and will allow Lutheran Ministries Media staff to work under the same roof for the first time. “We are so blessed that the Lord has graced us with the ability to broadcast Lutheran worship worldwide to those who cannot attend church,” said Schilf. “We are truly fulfilling the call in Matthew 28:19—to make disciples of all nations.”
